[It's been a rough month for Redgate's young lord. It's not Xion's fault that he initially looks up from the papers in front of him with an irritated expression, and the fact the he's quick to wipe it away in favor of something more neutral is a testament to that.]

[He's normally more pleasant and charming than this, anyone in the fortress would say as much. Just...yeah. Rough month.]

[Well... that wasn't entirely encouraging. She didn't quite catch that first expression but... oh well. She could still do this. It wasn't that bad. She shuffles forward a bit, head a little ducked. Then, slowly, she takes a deep breath and straightens herself up a bit.]

Hello. [Um.] People told me that here was where I could go if I wanted to ask if there was something I could do? To help around here?

[Well. At least that's useful. He makes an effort to smile as pleasantly as he can, leaning back into his seat and trying to appear relaxed.]

Ah, that's very kind of you. I'm sure I could find something if you're interested in helping out...

[Not like there's ever any lack of shit that needs to be done, but he makes a point of shuffling through the papers on his desk like he needs to dig something up. It doesn't suit his tastes to appear overwhelmed by work.]

[The truth of it is that Xion likely wouldn't have noticed all too much if he hadn't gone to the effort to appear calm and collected. She wouldn't have recognized a lot of the difference. As it is her eyes widen and she seems slightly startled, ducking her head sheepishly.]

Oh! Yes. [Um.] I just got here not too long ago.

[To the Drabwurld, that is.]

[His easy disposition seems a bit more natural as he continues -- it's always satisfying when he can fluster others for whatever reason, and it's a subtle confidence boost he really needs right now.]

Perhaps something relatively simple, then. Have you had much opportunity to explore the Drabwurld yet?
