REDGATE QUEST BOARD
As Lord of Redgate, Saralegui has the ability to offer quests that can help to increase other characters' influence. These quests are all open to any character (as long as the player has not already claimed any other quest from any quest board that month), and they all focus on Redgate and the surrounding areas. Please see the bottom of this entry for information on taking a quest! |

Name: Escort Services Slots: 1 Quest Rank: ★ Description: Redgate is unfortunately pretty far from everywhere but Daonna, and lbh Daonna isn't really big on anything to do with shardbearers. Escort merchants, caravants, groups of travelers, etc. along their way to or from Redgate and protect them from the various dangers of traveling. Requirements: Write a 1.5k log of your character acting as a guide and guard. Characters may escort whatever sort of individual or group their choose and may encounter any reasonable danger they wish, be it from those mentioned above or other possible threats of the Drabwurld! Reward: A purse of gold from Redgate, and any additional reasonable show of graditude you wish from the escorted individuals themselves. May aid slightly in improving relations between Shardbearers and natives in the area. | Name: Hitting the Books Slots: Quest Rank: ★ Description: The library in the mage university just outside Redgate has a large collection of ancient texts, full of information that could be potentially useful in combating the Void. Dig through the shelves and find something that seems promising, and either borrow or write a brief report on your findings. Requirements: Write 1.5k words of your character searching the university's library and doing research to find a helpful tome. Each quest-taker will discover a different piece of information to report back, and can from there do with that information what they choose. Reward: Paid tuition to the university if your character isn't already a student, or a purse of gold if they are. |
Name: The Court and the Void Slots: Quest Rank: ★ Description: Word around the Drabwurld's criminal underground, the Midnight Court, suggests that some of the members might have special experience with or knowledge of the Void. Either hunt down a member by yourself or accompany Redgate's lord to a meeting of the Midnight Court and poke around on his behalf for someone that might be willing to drop a few names if paid. Requirements: Write 1.5k words of your character encountering a member of the Midnight Court and bribing them for a name that might be helpful for further Void research (funds will be provided). If your character doesn't already have an in with the Midnight Court, they can accompany Saralegui to a meeting as a guest. This can either be played out, or just assumed if you'd rather do a solo quest write-up. Reward: An introduction to the Midnight Court's king if your character isn't already a member, or a purse of gold if they are. | Name: Captain Börte Slots: 1 Quest Rank: ★★ Description: Rumor has it that a single ship in Leathann has been able to sail near the Void without being sucked in, but her captain has proven difficult to get a hold of in order to learn the secret behind this. Captain Börte has been ferrying Leathann refugees over to the mainland these days, so catch her at one port or the other and try to get her to share the secret of her trick. Requirements: Write 3k words of your character (or characters) attempting to get in contact with Captain Börte and speaking with her if possible, either writing or personally delivering a report to Saralegui afterwards. Chances are questers will need to have someone waiting at both ports and be able to move quickly to catch her, so help in some way will almost certainly be necessary, whether it's your character teaming up with other PCs or getting aid from NPCs you create. Successfully getting in contact with the good captain and getting information out of her will decide the success or failure of the quest. Reward: A heavy purse of gold, a ring which will allow the wearer to walk on water when worn, and the goodwill of Redgate's lord. |

TO TAKE A QUEST: Reply to this post indicating which quest you would like. Once you have claimed a quest here and had your claim confirmed, please reply to the Quest Requests page. When your claim is confirmed here, we'll work out how your character will be made aware of the quest ICly (or, alternatively, your character might deal with some of the more immediate or obvious problems first and then have their efforts recognized officially afterwards, if you'd prefer to do things that way). You may write a solo quest log, or log out activities with another player if you'd prefer. However, in the case of logs with other players, only your own cumulative tags will count towards the required wordcount. Characters have thirty days OOCly to complete their quest or they will have forfeited it and that quest will become available to others again. For more information on quests, see the Quest & Influence FAQ. |
