I was hoping I might be able to have a chat with you about a couple of things, at the behest of Higgin, the majordomo of Caer Scima. I'm looking to take note of your current whereabouts and any special abilities you may have or may have been granted by Morla.

I appreciate that this is actually very forward, but you'd be doing me an incredible favour by getting in touch.

Forgive me for ignoring the questions for a moment, but what is a majordomo, and why does he want to know these things?

Sort of like an ancient personal assistant. I suppose that makes me the PA of the PA?

He's collecting data to determine anyone who might need extra training, what with all this stuff with Reynard going on. I think it might be useful.

To actually answer your question, I'm living in Redgate now.

Well, I'm going to tell myself that when it comes to keeping a record of everyone I speak to. Have you ever used a quill before? Complete nightmare.

Er, sorry. Anyway. Redgate! Nice. How long have you been there?

And it's been less than two weeks since I started living here, but I've technically only been here for a week of that time altogether.

Pencil, probably.

Oh, that's not long at all. I suppose it must still have that 'new place' feeling? You're settling alright, though?

More or less. There was an incident with Reynard the Fox, but everything's relatively settled now.

Sorry, I got off track a bit there. I've never been to Redgate, all the action there lately put me off a bit. Did you come here with any magic or other kinds of special abilities?

I promise, it's normally much quieter here.

But no, I'm just an ordinary human. And I've received no special abilities from the monarchs, either.

It's quiet now, but for how long.

Redgate has been fairly peaceful for years, and generally stayed out of the war. It's only with this new surge of shardbearers that it's been dragged back into the fray.

And if I have any say in the matter, things will return to normal here soon.
